Project Delivery
AEI offer the entire waste management service delivery, advising on strategy, advising on best approach, regulations and best practices (based on UK practices). If customers want a full waste management systems put in place full, collection, disposal, recycling and cleaning contracts, AEI can provide a range of services to oversee a complete service from initial design to project completion and ongoing training & management of service. AEI can also work a partnership basis giving the customer more confidence in our commitment to the project. Our Service can be summarised as follow:
- Taking full responsibility as a partner or act as a consultant over the waste management and environmental solutions for your city, delivering the service based on the same standards and practices as conducted in the United Kingdom and adhering to international standards
- Advising on the strategy of the project, creating models and structures, which will enable the operations to run smoothly, while maintaining best practices throughout; for example, designing a methodology for generating revenue from local polluters.
- Sub-contracting various aspects of the project as and when deemed necessary, practical and cost-effective for the benefit of the City
On a "no-obligation" basis, we will visit Lubumbashi and carry out a full assessment of the waste produced and the service requirements specific to the city. We are then able to provide a full proposal detailing the most appropriate solution.
Some examples of work successfully completed include:
May 2007 - Visit to Kinshasa, DRC to identify and propose key issues with the waste management in Kinshasa.
June 2007 - Delegation from Kinshasa, DRC received in UK for 10 day training programme. Programme included :
- Visits to waste management facilities to demonstrate the planning and investment required.
- Visits to sites which form part of the existing collection system including bring systems, multi bin collection, and commercial collection systems.
- Review of best practice used at sites to control Environmental and Health and Safety issues.
- Active discussion on issues in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as regards developing a sustainable waste management system.
- Review of services which can be provided to support the development of a sustainable waste management operation in the DRC leading to an action plan and a way forward.
This successful visit resulted in the production of a report entitled Way Forward Report
November 2007 - Visit to Kisangani, DRC
Visit to Kisangani, DRC to identify and propose key issues with the waste management in Kisangani. A delegation from Kisangani is expected in the UK, April 2008 for a training visit to Stoke on Trent Council.
March 2008 - Visit to Lubumbashi, DRC
Visit to identify and propose key issues with the waste management in Kisangani.
